Our Story -

Tired of the glasses offered by repetitive online retailers and chain eye-doctors, while simeltaneously inspired by her love for vintage, Marissa Michelle aka Riss sought out her dad. He’s a career optician who had collected a variety of beautiful frames over the years. Digging through his collection, she came across a great 70’s oversized frame which she installed her prescription into for everyday wear.

“Where did you get those? I love those!” Everywhere she went people would comment on, and ask her about her glasses. Then it dawned on her: “I should start selling these frames, to assist others like me who feel a desire to wear something different”. She got with her dad, largely choosing from his collection, and VOILA! Dad’s Vintage was born. Named ‘Dad’s’ in honor of her father Michael, Dad’s Vintage is their collaborative effort.

What we offer -

At Dad’s you will find a variety of eyeglass styles to accommodate a range of tastes and budgets. Since our frames are either one of one or limited quantity, you won’t be seeing anyone else walking around with the same pair.

Our values are quality, sustainability, and longevity. Vintage itself is something much more sustainable than a newly made item. This aspect is due to circular fashion, which cuts down on the waste and pollution created by giving an item a longer life cycle. Items created 30 plus years ago generally were created with finer materials and processes than products today.

Customize-

Once you purchase a pair of our frames simply bring them with you to your eye-doctor (we recommend small independent shops over chains like Lenscrafters). Our glasses are optical quality. A licensed optician can fit your frames with your prescription, or non prescription lenses. From there the options are as numerous as your eye-doctor offers, you can get a plain/ clear prescription, tinted lenses, mirrored sunglasses, transitions, ect. Another step to create a truly unique style all your own.

Take a look around, we hope you find something that speaks to you! Much love- Dad and Riss
