FAQs
I bought my frames. . . what now?
Now that you have your beautiful vintage frames you are ready to get them fitted with prescription or plano (non-script) lenses. You will need to go to a licensed optician to have this done. We recommend small businesses with well experienced/ skilled opticians as opposed to big businesses like Lens Crafters. (We do not recommend Lens Crafters)
Upon visiting them you can also get the frames adjusted to properly fit your face size.
Some of our frames are Optyl, a special type of plastic popular in the 70’s/ late 80s. We will list this in the description. If this is the case they will need to be heated before adjustment , but not to worry your optician will know what to do, just mention it to them.
Any specific recommendations on where to fit my lenses?
We are going to continue to extend this list, but for now:
Dallas TX - Doctor Eye Care - 4414 Lemmon Ave, Dallas, TX 75219
Buffalo NY - Council Opticians - 6624 Lincoln Ave #6109, Lockport, NY 14094
** we are not affiliated with these businesses directly, but we have had positive reviews/experiences **
