The part of the frame that sits right over your nose, bridging the lenses together; hence the name.

Measures the entire horizontal front of the frame, from the furthest extended point on either side.

. . . is the vertical height of the lens.

The “arm” is the long piece on either side that rests upon your ears, keeping the frames on your face.

Measurement across of the diameter of each lens. Doctors may call this the ‘eye size’.

Measurement Shortcuts

If you already have a pair of frames that fit you well you’re in luck! Most likely your glasses will have three key numbers printed on them either inside the temple arm or near the bridge.

Measurements printed on the temple (may not be all three numbers)

Measurements printed near the bridge: most likely will just be eye-size and bridge size. Look on temple for third measurement in this case.
